About us

FGR Community is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Green Britain Foundation, we are the charitable arm of Forest Green rovers Football Club.

Some highlights from this last year include:

3249 meals, ingredients and food hampers were delivered to fans, care homes, families and vulnerable adults, including providing enough Quorn to make over 500 vegan meals supplying the “Freezers of Love” set up to promote food equality.

We have helped set up the Arkell pantry at the Arkell Community Centre in Nailsworth with the support of Morrison’s and Marrows to run alongside the Freezer of Love. We have also helped recruit volunteers alongside, delivering meals and produce to vulnerable people in our community.

1117 people were reached through the Tackling Loneliness Together Campaign from July 2020-March 2021 and we continue to support many of these participants including:

·         615 phone calls made

·         5668 letters cards, newsletters & emails sent

·         209 deliveries of PPE

·         10 care homes and 4 sheltered housing schemes engaged with

We work with over 50 schools here in Gloucestershire and we even held a virtual lesson with the largest international school in the world in Geneva!

We are so proud of our Young FGR Ambassadors this season, we have had 56 Primary and 16 Secondary School  Ambassadors supporting their schools and communities during the pendemic. Our newly established Ambassador Alumni are also representing Youth Voice by making a difference in the Trust, Club and local community.

380 books were distributed for World book day and 900 free shirts, books and goodie bags have been given out of which 450 Free Shirts were Given Away to Year 3 pupils in Gloucestershire, reaching a total of 80 Gloucestershire schools.

This is just a small part of our work and we work collaboratively with many other charities in the Stroud District, across Gloucestershire and beyond to inspire change and make a significant difference to local people.

We need your continued help to ensure we sustain this level of charitable service and so we can continue to offer and even expand!

Thank you for your support and good luck!

Yours sincerely,

Head of FGR Community

Sarah Urquhart
